These ribs are cooked in the slow cooker for that Kansas City fall-off-the-bone, finger-lickin’ taste and finished on the grill to get that smoky, charred flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup diced red onion
- 1 rack (about 3 ¼ lbs) baby back ribs
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 cup water
Steps
- Add the onions to a 6–7 quart slow cooker. Cut the rack of ribs in half and place on top of the onions. Mix together the garlic, barbecue sauce, ketchup, honey, and water in a bowl until well combined. Pour over top of ribs. Cook on low for 4 hours or until fork tender.
- Set grill to medium-high. Use tongs to transfer ribs from slow cooker to a plate and pour the sauce from the slow cooker into a bowl. Skim the fat off the sauce. Grill ribs for 10–15 min., brushing with the barbecue sauce and flipping often, until slightly charred. Serve with any remaining sauce on the side.
