The addition of sweet and tart grapefruits makes this margarita a Paloma, a restaurant-worthy cocktail that you can enjoy at home.
Ingredients
- 3 large red grapefruit
- 1 ½ tsp kosher or margarita salt
- ¾ cup white tequila
- ¼ cup Triple Sec
- ½ cup lemon lime soda
Steps
- Halve the grapefruit and squeeze 2 cups juice, reserving 1 squeezed half.
- Add the salt to a small dish. Use reserved grapefruit half to moisten the rims of 4 margarita or cocktail glasses. Dip glasses into the salt to coat rims, then fill with ice.
- To a cocktail shaker, add grapefruit juice, tequila, and triple sec. Add ice, cover, and shake well. Strain into rimmed glasses and top each with the lemon-lime soda.
Tips
To coat the glass rims, you may need up to 1 tbsp of salt in the dish when dipping them. Discard any leftover salt.
