This winter spin on sangria infuses a fruity red wine with sweet and tangy pomegranate juice and warm winter spices. Make it ahead of time and let holiday guests serve themselves.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup pomegranate juice
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 (750 ml) bottle fruity dry red wine, chilled
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- ice, for serving
- 1 (750 ml) bottle dry sparkling white wine, chilled
Steps
- In a pitcher, stir together the pomegranate juice and sugar until sugar dissolves. Add the red wine, cloves, and cinnamon. Refrigerate until cold.
- Serve over ice, topped with the sparkling wine to taste.
